Even famous rappers play Call of Duty? Amazingly enough Call of Duty has found yet another way to scrape up some revenue. 50 Cent will not be seen in MW2, he will actually be heard. The sound of 50s voice will be heard saying several phrases in the multi-player game mode. Rumor has it he isn't the only famous cameo, I will do my best to keep you updated as new information comes in. There is also a MW2 controller currently being designed for those hardcore gamers out there, however it is most likely being manufactured from a separate company like Madcatz Controllers. Batman is back and better than ever. I have to say this is one that surprised me. The graphics and design I assumed would be top notch considering the popularity of the game. No one has confirmed what product these price cuts will be announced on, but we can only imagine the possibilities. Prevent PS3 Failure

I'm not the only one that has been surprised with the "beep beep beep", wondering how this happened to me, I thought Junkboxes died? Not my PS3. A lot of you have been there and a lot of you still think it couldn't happen to you. Well there is light at the end of the tunnel. Here is a few tips on just how to keep this from happening or happening again.

First off, lets cover what is happening and why. Most broken PS3's have 1 of 2 problems. Either it is running too hot or the blue-ray eye isn't reading correctly. Lets address both problems and solutions.

Over Heating?

The PlayStation 3 is built with its included cooling system. If where you set up your system isn't properly ventilated you are raising your chances on a "beep beep beep". Its pretty simple guys if your fan is running none stop, its too hot. I suggest relocating your PS3 or buying a cooling fan. A location adjustment and $30 for a fan could save you the inconvenience of losing all your saved data, $150, and a minimum of 2 weeks without your PS3. The downside is a lot of intercoolers can be loud, so make sure and read reviews to find the best selection for you.

Dirt Ball!

Second, if your not keeping it clean you could be your own worst enemy. Go out and fork out some dough for a Blue Ray Cleaner. This kit will allow you to clean the inside of your PS3 keeping the Blue Ray eye reading properly. I would suggest doing this quarterly through out the year. Also, vacuum out all the external vents around the PlayStation 3 every couple of weeks. Dog hair, dust, and dirt can all be quick killers to your Sony system.

So now your towering black box is clean inside and out. Don't ruin it all by shoving dirty discs into the slot. Clean your discs of any kind just as often as you do your PS3. This will prevent anything getting on or around the lens inside. There is also a big discussion on whether to place it flat or up right? My opinion is that Sony has designed it to operate either way so as long as you have proper ventilation. I personally leave mine flat for the fear that somehow it would be tipped over.

If you can manage to accomplish all these tasks, you have lowered your chances greatly on having any issues. Even still it is possible, thankfully Sony provides a refurbished system with a 1 year full warranty for $150. A real steal, if compared to purchasing a brand new one. I would suggest making the phone call to Sony as soon as you realize it needs serviced. I had a system back to me in about 10 days after the phone call. Amazon PS3 Slim Real or Fake?

An update in the PS3 slim saga. Amazon has placed a PS3 slim on there website. Unfortunately the only 2 product pictures provided are uploaded from a customer. Even though, the pictures are definitely the most believable I've seen yet. Why wouldn't Sony release picture of there product? Why hasn't PS3 slim been announced at all? How much will it cost and what does it include? These are all questions I'm sure all of us would like answered. The highly anticipated PS3 slim could mean many things but why be so interested if I already own one you ask? The more consoles sold the better games, content, features, and support. I for one see the possibility of purchasing a second console for the sole reason of being able to play online on the second TV while my girlfriend rocks out in the living room. On top of that, who wouldn't want an extra media machine like this. Rumor has it the slim will still include all the current features of the PS3 as well as the obvious structural improvements.

Bottom line we all want to support the PS3 because we want the PS3 to support us. Lets all start converting all of those who don't currently own a PS3, let them know what there missing. Inform them of the huge mistake they made on that junkbox 180 and there second chance on the PS3 slim. With no release date or even a official PS3 slim confirmation from Sony, all we can do is sit back watch it unravel. Never the less I'm convinced there has to be some truth to all this speculation. A PS3 slim release date is inevitable. DK.

Call of Duty Gears Up for Map Pack 3 Release

I'm sure I wasn't the only one who had to take a minute to allow the new Call of Duty 5 patch download and install. The new patch seems to be a set up patch for new release Map Pack 3. You will now see a few additions to the main screen, and a tease of a selection for the new zombie map. Interestingly there is also a "Characters Bios" addition. Interestingly enough it seems to be more than just a few old war stories to these soldiers. Catch up on the history of our zombie, freak bag killing soldiers. Below is the listed Bio on all of them as well as some updated achievements that clue us in on whats to come with the release of map pack 3.

Tank Dempsey (USA)
Tank Dempsey: American hero. Give him a loaded weapon, a good woman, and something to shoot at and he’s happy. Cross him and he’ll rip your guts out and use them as a bandolier. Dempsey was selected for this mission after he showed his true grit at the battle for Peleliu. His unit was captured during the early raids before the main invasion, and he spent 2 weeks in a rat infested bamboo cage submerged in malarial water. Eventually, he gnawed his way through the cage, and then gnawed his way through his captors armed only with a Bobby pin and his Medal of Honor which he keeps secreted in various body cavities. There is no before the war for Dempsey, there is no after. There is only the legend of Tank Dempsey, and how he won the war for the rest of us.Leaving behind a wake of destruction and meat sacks wherever he goes, Dempsey is the man to have on your side when faced with an undead apocalypse.

Nikolai Belinski (RUS)
Stalin himself cannot stare Nikolai in the eye, no one can. For in his eyes you see the soul of a man burning with a hatred of all things living. His closet is full of skeletons, many of them with the flesh still attached. Before the war, Nikolai quickly made his way up through the party ranks by killing the next man in line, and by marrying politically. His aspirations all came crashing down after his fifth wife mysteriously died while cleaning Nikolai’s axe with her neck. Little did he know that she had been sleeping with a high ranking party official on the side. After her tragic demise, Nikolai’s reputation spread quickly through the party, and it wasn’t long before Stalin himself had heard about the psychopathic politician who killed anything that came within 5 feet of him. As soon as the war started, Nikolai was dropped at the front line and forgotten about, where he wallowed in self pity and Vodka for several years. With many weapons in his arsenal, not least of which is his breath, Nikolai Belinski can look death in the eye and say “I know you”.

Takeo Masaki (JPN)
Tattooed on the inside of Takeo’s eyelids is the Japanese proverb “Life is light when compared to honor”. For Takeo, life has no meaning if not to perfect one’s discipline and to reveal a warrior’s true character and honor. He ponders this and other philosophical questions as his Katana slices through the flesh and sinew of his enemy.
Takeo was born into wealth. His family dynasty dates back several centuries, and throughout that time they have been highly decorated Samurai and Bushi. Takeo is no exception to this celebrated bloodline. When the family first saw the young, life-filled 5 year old Takeo playing in the street with his Katana and slicing the tails off terrified kittens, they knew he was destined to bring honor to the Masaki name. The war was a perfect opportunity for Takeo to explore his bloodlust and study the nature of those less honorable than himself. If you fall victim to his swift action and might, know that you have helped a man better than you reach enlightenment.

Doctor Richtofen (GER)
Beware The Doc. This message was scrawled across walls of every town under Axis control. Starvation may cripple you, dysentery may wreck you, and gunfire may rip the flesh from your bones, but Beware The Doc. Meet Dr. Richtofen, known affectionately as The Butcher to his victims as they scream in agony moments before he snuffs out their light. Throughout his career, Richtofen has always been at the forefront of torture and information extraction research. Before the war he was a back alley plastic surgeon, who created an army of monstrous affluent Weimar socialites that would follow him around and laugh at every joke the genius doctor made. This all fell apart when the republic fell and the Nazi party took control. To Richtofen, their values were too moral, too liberal for his liking. He joined the army so he could satisfy his need to watch people die, slowly. An incurable sociopath, he sees no moral distinction between natural death and murder. The victim is the victim, regardless of how their demise manifests itself.
He has a collection of stuffed animals, most of them posed in positions of terror at the instant of their death.

Madden 2010 Demo 1st Impression

The 2010 edition of Madden seems to be all about realism. Not that its anything new for EA sports, they have been leading the way in realistic football since the 80s. From the very beginning of the game they intertwined real photographs with computer generated editing, leaving you lost on whats real and whats not. I know every year we try and imagine how they could make it look any more real, and every year they pull it off.

The most noticeable improvements I can see are in the player movement and stadium environment. The way players are tackled have a real "never the same tackle" feel to them. Which brings the repetitive feel of seeing the same tackles and moves every game. The stadium is outstanding and they show it off with a snowy match between the Giants and Cowboys. The fans look about as good as they did last year but I did notice much more variety in the movement in the crowd, once again promoting realism.

The stadium lighting is much improved this year as well. The lighting seems much more like a real stadium having dark areas inside, and fading to the sky very well. Game play has definitely been stepped up a notch. Players spin, cut, jump and push through in a seemingly seamless manor.
They have introduced a gang tackling that can have 3 to 9 pile ups. The rating system for players is where they really took off this year. For QB they have short, mid, and long range skill ratings. I started as the giants and immediately noticed how well Eli through with in 15yds but horribly over 30yds. The RB position was improved in the same way, the rating system is set up to allow the big guys to have some real value. In 2009 if your RB had a high speed rating the rest was history. I could run through packs of people breaking tackles and anything else in the way of Brandon Jacobs.
All in all there have been some great improvements top to bottom. On a few minor notes they have returned to the old play selection format, I personally think the simplicity is the way to go with that. I am also happy to announce the squib kick is back! You will get 4-1:00min snowy quarters that we all can play over and over until Aug 14th.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare--PORT FORWARDING

I am on my way to fix someones router with call of duty 4. So I thought I would post the fix since this is a very common problem. There usually is an ip problem with port forwarding on the router if you get stuck at the the "downloading settings" screen. I'm going to post the ports needed to be forwarded for the Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. There is also a link below that describes how to set these ports on a Fios router which seems to be a little bit tricky. "News to me PS3" This blog is dedicated to the PS3. I will cover mostly upcoming games as well as do short reviews on current games. I want this blog to be a place that everyone can come to and get interesting, funny, and NEW, news. There are no limits or regulations on what we can talk about here as long as it is related to the PS3 in some way. I work full time just like the rest of you and this is just a way of me using my otherwise useless information surrounding the PS3. I've owned all 3 of Sonys video game consoles and loved all of them. I purchased my PS3 about a year after releasing in 2006. I've used almost every day since. I milk this thing for every penny I spent. Blue-Ray, games, music, pictures, and even browsing the internet. I've talked about 6 of my closest friends into buying one as well. I'm an ACE at setting these up online and off, HD or not. I intend on helping anyone with there lagging, no connection, can't sign-in, won't turn on, BS problems, so let me know. I currently own over 15 of the hottest PS3 titles and I'm a gamefly member. My top 3 go in no certain order; Call of duty, Madden, and Grand Theft Auto. I just want to talk about video games and have a place where I can provide the information that obsessively consume on a regular basis. This is just a kick off to let everyone know whats to come. The Mission

Here at News to Me PS3 we aim to please the gamer and producer! By the gamer for the gamer is the way we see it here. Our objective is to provide up to date breaking PS3 news, technical support, and great deals on PS3 games/hardware. This website is intended to serve as a platform of communication between the gamers creating the games and the gamers playing the games. What if you could ask game producers questions of your choice and actually get an answer? What if those same producers could ask you questions directly? I want to build a bridge between these two segregated groups. Imagine a website where you can post a question to the guys at EA Sports or how about the crew down at Infinity Ward? I'm sure we would all like to have a conversation with Sony! All I'm asking is to close the gap, make it easier for the guys behind the screen to talk to the guys in front of the screen.

To accomplish this I'm going to need an army of gamers with a mission. Have you ever wanted to yell out an obvious glitch with Madden? How about a change you would like to make to Call of duty? Added features to the PS3 network? Even request features in games? Join my mission and become a soldier in the gamer army.

Those of you that have a career in this industry, I know you feel the same pain. Haven't you ever wanted to explain why it isn't so easy to add that feature? Or why fixing that glitch isn't a matter of flipping a switch? Or maybe just a simple whats your favorite level of my game? Now is your chance. Please we need your help!

My conclusion is only that we can accomplish this with numbers. If there is enough of us reaching out, we will be anwsered. If we ask we shall recieve. DK.
